Quality Travel Solutions was founded in 2009 by Don Capparella, who had already spent years working in the travel industry. Don loved travel and, even more, he loved sharing the experiences he discovered along the way. He wanted to bring together the best parts of the destinations he loved and create meaningful experiences to share with his clients, friends, and fellow travelers.

So, he decided to build something of his own.

Don founded Quality Travel Solutions as a full-service travel agency where he wasn’t limited by a set list of destinations, tours, or experiences. He continued helping clients plan every kind of travel, while gradually expanding QTS into something that became a defining part of our agency: curated travel experiences designed from the ground up by people who know and love travel.

It Started in Tuscany

Our very first QTS Travel Experience was Tuscany, and it set the standard for everything that followed.

Don traveled to Tuscany personally, meeting with guides and exploring the region to find the people and experiences that matched his vision. He visited vineyards throughout the Tuscan countryside until he found the one that felt just right. He walked the streets, tasted the food, explored the towns, and experienced the destination firsthand before putting it together for our guests.

The result was so popular that we brought it back year after year. And then Don did what Don did best: he started dreaming about where we could go next.

From Tuscany to Around the World

Over the years, QTS Travel Experiences have taken our guests around the globe, from safaris in Kenya and South Africa to private yacht experiences along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast. We’ve navigated the unique challenges of creating a fully compliant travel experience in Cuba that supports and benefits the Cuban people, and we've taken guests to tour Europe and Asia, including on the river. Our guests have had the opportunity to sail the Rhine River through four European countries, and the Mekong River through three countries in Southeast Asia with QTS. And who could forget our popular Pubs & Castles experience in Ireland? Just another idea that Don brought to life.

Each experience is different, but the philosophy remains the same: don’t just visit a destination. Experience it.

More Than a Travel Agency

Don believed that great travel advisors should never stop learning. As QTS grew, he became passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping others succeed in the travel industry. He served as a board member of The Travel Institute and authored numerous courses and educational programs, helping shape the next generation of travel professionals.

Since 2009, Don has built QTS into a team of nearly 40 travel professionals, each bringing their own expertise, destination knowledge, and specialty areas to the agency. From cruises and luxury escapes to adventure travel, family vacations, group travel, and destinations around the world, our team can help you find the right experience for the way you want to travel.

Don's Legacy Continues

In 2026, we lost Don far too soon. But before his passing, Don was adamant that Quality Travel Solutions continue, and that the vision he worked so hard to build lived on.

Today, his husband, Dan, serves as President and CEO, carrying forward Don’s vision and continuing to lead the team and agency Don built. The people, the experiences, the relationships, and the passion for travel remain at the heart of QTS.

We’re still dreaming up new places to go, new experiences to share, and new memories to make.

Because while Don may no longer be traveling alongside us, his spirit of adventure is still very much part of the journey.
